Universidade da Beira Interior
University of Beira Interior (UBI) is one of the youngest public universities in Portugal. UBI has gained great expertise in the area of knowledge transfer. It is a stakeholder in Parkurbis Science and Technology Park of Covilhã. This park is home to spin-off companies that are developing commercial applications for research findings by graduate students and professors. These spin-offs are contributing significantly to the economic diversification in this Portuguese region.

Tampere University of Applied Sciences
Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) is an internationally oriented, multidisciplinary higher education institution in the Tampere Region of Finland. TAMK offers Bachelor’s and Master’s level studies in six educational fields. They focus on technology, business and well-being services.

Satakunta University of Applied Sciences
Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) in Finland is a limited liability company owned by municipalities and local business organizations. It is home to the Well-being Enhancing Technology (WET) research group. This multidisciplinary research team aims to enhance individuals’ health and well-being through technology rather than traditional care. Students are actively involved in their projects. Thus the research group helps to educate future experts in this field.

Saxion University of Applied Sciences
Saxion University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands is a multidisciplinary education community. It offers a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at various levels. Research at Saxion is concentrated in six research centres, serving Business & Industries, Cities & Livelihoods, Health & Well-being. Research facilities include core engineering laboratories, shared spaces and facilities with external partners, and a host of designated living labs in our partner businesses, cities and regions.

Fontys
Fontys is one of the largest institutions for higher education in the Netherlands. Its Department of Allied Health Professions educates students in areas such as speech therapy, podiatry, orthotics, medical imaging & radiation oncology, and physical therapy. The department is home to the Health Innovations and Technology (HIT) research group. It focuses on the development, acceptance and implementation of technology in health care from the perspective of patients, their families and health care professionals. This research is conducted in close collaboration with technology faculties.

Zuyd
Zuyd University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands offers a wide range of education and research programmes. In 2012, Zuyd took on the role of lead partner for the development of a national Centre of Expertise for Innovative Care and Technology (EIZT). The centre is involved in the European Master Care and Technology through Zuyd’s faculties of Health and Beta Sciences and Technology. Zuyd is committed to educating innovative and entrepreneurial professionals who want to contribute to the development and implementation of new and innovative care products. The university believes this is of eminent importance in order to meet the challenges that health care systems in Europe are facing today.
