With its 42,000 students, 4,000 members of staff and a range of courses covering almost every sector, Fontys is one of the largest institutions for higher education in the Netherlands. The department of Allied Health Professions will lead this project. The department of Allied Health Professions within FUAS, educates a wide variety of students (among others, speech therapy, podiatry, orthotics, medical imaging & radiation oncology, and physical therapy). The chair of Health Innovations and Technology (HIT) is the research Centre of the department of Allied Health Professions. The research focus is on technology development, acceptance and implementation of technology in health care, from the point of view of patients, family and health care professionals. In this, research is in close collaboration with technological faculties. Research at Fontys is practice-based and innovative.
