Zuyd has about 1650 employees and 14000 students and offers a wide range of education and research programs In 2012 a consortium of national educational institutes, Zuyd as lead partner, and care and cure organizations received a substantial grant to develop a National Centre of Expertise in the field Technology, Cure and Care. The resulting Centre of Expertise for Innovative Care and Technology (EIZT) will be brought into this project. Both the faculty of Healthcare and the faculty of Beta are active participants. To deliver innovative and entrepreneurial professionals, professionals should be able to be a partner in the development of new innovative care products or services and implementation of these developments. Zuyd is convinced that education on Care and Technology is of eminent importance to deliver professionals that can cope with the challenges of Europe 2020, especially in relation to healthcare.
